The Experience
The new 4000 square foot center for American Ancestors features a welcoming public facing space that introduces visitors to the topic of family history research and the powerful possibilities that emerge when we begin the journey of understanding our own ancestry and the multiple ways we are connected to others.
The new center melds two buildings together for the first time- one brand new and the other a historic bank, and the Family Heritage Experience straddles both spaces. Continuing with this idea of melding new and old, the center has a contemporary design with an bespoke feel. The rich and sophisticated palette meld with the clean furniture design to create a space that is at once elevated and modern, but also feels at home with both the aged artifacts displayed and new media experiences.
